Many people assume their dogs just slow down with age. Perhaps your dog used to leap into the car to go for rides or bound up and down the stairs. But now they seem to have trouble or go slower. If your furry friend takes longer to recover from activity or prefers to stay in one place rather than play, they may have arthritis.
Arthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease or osteoarthritis (OA), is a condition involving inflammation and deterioration of the joints. Arthritis doesn’t only affect senior dogs. Under certain circumstances, arthritis can affect young dogs, too.
