At the end of the first week in junior high a kid named Darryl approached me, “Nancy has worn the same pair of pants all week!” My reply was, “I’ll be darned” as I glanced down to my own jeans. Yup, same pair all week. Before that day I didn’t know certain things mattered.

One year in elementary school I had a pair of reddish colored jeans type of pants, they were my school pants and I wore them everyday, had to change as soon as I got home. I never felt insecure about them, they were just my "good" pants, I suppise if someone would have teased me I may have felt different.
