A 95-year-old man has been 'working' at his local 7-Eleven for decades. He's paid in coffee.

The traffic lights are still flashing red and yellow.

It's just before 5 a.m in Virginia.

It's quiet. Except for one man, who starts his daily routine before the sun is up.

Orin Gilbert Jr., 95, shuffles to the front door of the 7-Eleven. It's 5:04 a.m. With every other step, he presses the cane in his right hand to the ground. He grabs the door and enters.

He must have started doing it when he retired from his regular job 30 years ago... It's a super thing for him, it gives him company , something to keep himself occupied, interaction with the staff and customers who seem to take care of him, and gets free coffee and bananas to keep him going ... and he only does the jobs he can manage, and I'm sure he's probably only there for a short time every day ...but it gives him something to keep living for... fabulous feel good story... ..

They are registered to do that during the wee early hours...

I would think it means "proceed with caution" or "proceed after stopping". Don't see that here in the big city.

Yes....The red flashing is on the street with the most traffic .. Stop and go starts after 6AM in most cases..

The lights work in 3 colour rotation whatever time of day it is... Red, amber green....
