NOAA is tracking the global temperatures, and 2015 is setting up to be the warmest year on record...with one Exception. The ocean temperature in the North Atlantic is substantially cooler than normal, and this is shutting down the ocean currents that bring milder air to Europe. This is being attributed to the increased melting of ice on Greenland, and the major infusion of cold fresh water into the area below Greenland and Iceland. With the West to East flow of the jet stream, which brings warmer ocean air over Europe, this could very well mean that this air flow will be substantially cooler than normal.

Our European friends might want to keep their Winter coats handy this coming year.
