I just found it in the library. It was published last year but I guess they just got it. " Dogtology" by Jeff Lazarus, it's a light-hearted yet very detailed celebration of Planet Dog. An excerpt considers what dogs think as they watch us undressing.

" In fact, the whole ritual seems to make dogs just a tad uncomfortable. Not for the sexual aspect but for something much more basic. Dogs don't understand the concept of detachable body parts. In other words, dogs can't remove their paws or step out of their fur or hang their ears up to dry. They think of our clothes as human fur and our shoes as human feet, so when we remove these items in front of them, they get a little nervous, possibly thinking thoughts like these:

Wha? Whoa! Why is that human taking herself apart?!

What does this human want me to do with that pile of spare body parts he dropped on the floor there? Bury them? Eat them? Sleep on them? Pee on them? Guess I can try that."

You do wonder their thoughts...sometimes the humans have teeth and sometimes they take them out...sometimes Mami comes home and reeks of chemicals...but now she has new long claws and can give the best tushie rubs ever. Some interesting thoughts to contemplate...a really fun read for anyone.
