A fun day....finally

We got our Covid shots a few weeks ago, and no problems. It was a cool and breezy day today, so we decided to go to the casino in Boonville....for the first time in months. It was a hoot! The casino was quite crowded for a weekday....almost like a Saturday. I suspect that most of the people were like us....old geezers who had their shots and tired of sitting at home. We played for 3 or 4 hours, then had a great Barbequed Ribs Supper....had coupons for a free meal at the sports bar. When we got back home, we checked our wallets, and I was up almost $400, and the wife a bit over $200. This area is doing a good job of controlling the virus, and it looks like we can begin to return to enjoying our monthly trips again.

We're in the 'too scared' group. We have no intention of going to a restaurant or any kind of venue until fall. Vac's are not 100%. Too many people still not vac'd. We're too compromised to take the chance. But, we have a few acres of endless outdoor work to keep us going and bike trips.
I'm happy for people like you who don't think there is a risk --- I wish we were in that group.

Don, I’m envious of your day out to the casino. For us the last time was in Dec/19 and the way things are going, it’d be a miracle if our BC casinos open by Dec/21.

We haven't gone to a casino in so long. They are all open in Atlantic City but I don't feel like sitting with a mask on and every other seat has been removed. The hubby and I like to take a break and sit and watch the other play.
I like to spend time in the pool and that is still closed.
I'm pretty sure the buffet is closed also.
I guess we will wait awhile.
@Don M. I'm glad you had a good time and that you won. The hubby usually wins a little bit and I generally break even, just enough to have them ask us back and give us a little slot play.

Fortunately, people in our area are taking this virus, and the vaccines seriously. The casino requires a mask at all times, and checks the temperature of everyone who enters. Several of the slots are shut down, so people can't sit close together, and the restaurants have limited seating.

Here, the "virus" numbers are staying fairly low, and the only "spikes" seem to be among the college students....who aren't following the guidelines....and the crowded urban areas where the vaccines haven't been widely given, and the people are still "gathering".

In reality, over the past year, the casinos seem to be just about the safest place for people to go for some fun.
