My two little granddaughters have had the original prayer on pillowcases, but they have been washed so much that the wording is fading. So the oldest asked me if i would print a copy off the Internet so she could hang it on the wall.
encore: Father Francis Mulcahy: "Now I lay me down to sleep, a bag of peanuts at my feet. If I should die before I wake, give them to my brother Jake."
He's my favorite MASH character. I loved the episode where he got drunk and gave the same line in his sermon twice and some Biblical character was "at the corner tabernacle."
"William Christopher, who played Catholic Priest and US Army Chaplain (Capt) Francis Mulcahy on “M.A.S.H.,” the Korean War military/medical black comedy TV show in the 1970s and early 1980s, died on New Years Eve, 2016. He was 84. While the show’s irreverence, humor, and social commentary made it a bit of a cultural icon well into the 1980s, it is less well known today. Still, “Father Mulcahy” has managed to live on in the American lexicon."
