This is something new, and interesting. A local Funeral Home has recently added a Therapy dog to their "staff" To be there as a comfort for family and visitors. I guess they bring him in to be with the family during the preparations for the services. Also, if family is agreeable, will bring the dog, and handler, into the visiting room when guests are there.
I think that is a great idea. I remember back in June, when my husband was in surgery, a hospital volunteer came into the waiting room, with the friends and family were and had the dog visit with us. I know it helped ME to get my mind off my troubles and get a hug from the dog.

What a fabulous idea. Dogs are incredibly therapeutic and help relieve stress from people.
Most dogs enjoy having a job or life purpose. It works out well for both. After all, dogs are wo(man’s ) best friend.

I love dogs, I love therapy dogs. A couple of times when I was in hospital their visits gave me a tremendous lift.
But back many years ago when I had to arrange parents funerals, or when I go to visitations for friends, I feel like a dog would just be a distraction& not helpful. But I could see it might be good for some folks to just have it available if needed or desired.
