Matloaf just is what it is. Why fuss about what it is called? In my boyhood it appeared frequently on out table because it was cheap, easy to make, and served for at least three meals plus sandwiches.

@CallMeKate, I agree. Body builders looked like their inflated with something ... not very attractive. But show me a man with natural looking muscles that ripple when he works, YES PLEASE.

I don't like the look of super muscle-bound guys. I prefer slim and well-defined. Here's Hugh Jackman less muscle-bound than when he played Wolverine.

So, anyway. Many years ago, my dad went to visit my brother and his family in Conn. When he came home, he was telling me about his trip. and how they went into NYC to a show at Radio City Music Hall. He exclaimed, I was sitting next to Meatballs.
Errm...what? Called my niece "Your grandfather said he sat next to meatballs? What? She laughed...NO...Meat Loaf!!

I guess it is called meatloaf because you can use a variety of meats to make it.We like meatloaf and the leftovers make great sandwiches. I don't just cover in plain ketchup I mix ketchup and a small amount of vinegar, brown sugar,mustard and put it over meatloaf the last 10 to 15 mins of cooking and it is really good.
