A new chapter in life

My first experience with embedded designs was with the RCA COSMAC 1802. Back then we used it to drive ATE for testing telephones when we made them in the USA. Now I mess around with the Teesny & RPi boards – wow what a difference a few decades make!

I remember the 1802. There was a nifty trainer board with a calculator display and telephone keypad. It was limited for my purposes; I went with the 8080 and later Z80. I still have my old IMSAI S-100 development system, Z80 based, before the days of the IBM PC.
Here's a glance back at a typical software developer circa mid 1990s. Brand new Compag laptop, desktop PC and a CRT terminal connected to a DEC Alpha mini-computer. And a picture of a real, one owner IMSAI with authentic front panel, assembled from a kit (as in solder the parts onto the boards) in 1977.

I remember the IMSAI. Glad to know I’m not the only geek out there. Wish I would have kept my old Z100.

Welcome from a fellow engineer. I was single after losing my wife of 30 years. I spent my time traveling to places my late wife have no interest in going.
After a trip I wrote,"at this point my life is at a crossroads. I have no idea when my next trip is or where it will be to. Time will tell"
When I came back from my last trip in October, I said I had no idea where I would be going next, but I did not want to be traveling alone again. Well, life is funny that way, because I met a wonderful lady, who is a widow and has sons about the same age as mine. We were married on the Island of Santorini a year and a half after we met.
Wonderful story! Best wishes for a happy future!

Welcome @1955 from British Columbia. I had missed your introduction.

The only things I’ve seen of the Ozarks are from the Netflix show. Beautiful country.
