A Nice Little Touch Of Good Fortune

Stopped in a restaurant for a quick lunch yesterday. I was wearing a pair of loose fitting gym pants that I always worry that I can't feel my wallet being in the pocket. So I drove home, got out of my truck, took a few steps then "Uh-Oh" no wallet! I jumped back in the truck an made a beeline to the restaurant. Not seeing it in the parking lot I entered the eatery where I sat and there on the floor being the exact shade of brown as he floor lay my wallet. Goodbye anxiety-hello happiness. So I went home got on line and bought a chain wallet so as to never worry about my wallet falling out. Sounds trivial but the hassle of reordering everything in the wallet is a pain in the pillow section. So that was my 2019 piece of luck. About ten years ago I found a wallet with I estimated 1,600-1800 dollars in it in a government office. I returned it to the on duty security guard. So yesterday was my payback.

When I was 19, I left my wallet on my car's roof. It was around midnight, I was chatting with friends in a parking lot. (I forgot why I took my wallet out of my pocket). I didn't notice it missing until the next day - 12 hours later. Knowing how busy that shopping center was, I didn't expect to find it. I drove back there & there it was on the pavement. The wallet was black - the same color as the pavement...that's probably why no one noticed it.

OOOOh the relief for you!!....I did something similar a couple of months ago..and just as I was about to ring the credit card companies, the wallet was found!!! ...*phew*

I have read a number of times that a wallet is safest in your front pocket. I put mine there and I don't have a lump to sit on. My wallet is either in my pocket or in my hand, I never, ever put it down. I have never lost one.

Some no longer carry a wallet, just license, credit card and small amount of cash ...maybe insurance card. Wallets have lots of things you don't need every time you go out.

Yeah

I’ve got a skinny leather fold; debit, license, health card
And a money clip
All in the front pockets

However

I can still lose them

Even though hanging unto those things is my religion,
A Subway, 60 miles north, gained a bit over $300 and a really cool money clip

Glad you found your wallet in tact!

I carry a purse and am thinking of getting a slim one that I can hang across myself. I don't need all the cards I carry with me but just always grab my purse when I go out somewhere. Going downtown next month and am wondering if I should take my purse because it will most likely be hot and much of what I wear doesn't have pockets..what to do..what to do...I'll figure it out before then! :)

A month ago I was at a liquor store and the woman employee next to the register I was at hollerd, "My wallet!" Turns out she had her wallet next to the register easily touchable by any customer being waited on and so someone grabbed it when she probably turned to grab a bottle. Some folks would steal the skin off us if they could sell it. I'll bet nearly everyone knows someone that has had their computer devise stolen out of their cars.
