Over the past 25 years I have participated in Medical Support Groups for Waldenstroms Macroglobulinema ( Non Hodgkins Lymphoma) Atrial Fibrillation-Rheumatoid Arthritis and Severe Hearing Loss. I don't take any medical advice from any of the participants but do pay attention to what medications, treatments, physicians etc. that they are involved with re: their particular health issue. My participation with the above groups has enabled me to live as good a life as possible with my particular health issues and to be able to communicate better with my doctors by asking the right questions. Believe me that your doctor will treat you even better if he is aware that you are PROACTIVE and better informed about your health.

As Seniors, RETIREES ETC. you will find that as you age you will in all probability develop some kind of health issue. Don't be cocky because YOU NOW TAKE NO MEDS AND ARE EXCELLENT HEALTH. My advice to fellow seniors is BE PROACTIVE,

I was in an online support group (medically moderated) for several months before and after my hip replacements. I found the group very helpful and calming, especially in regard to what actually to expect, the procedures, the implants themselves, recovery and rehab and so on. In was very helpful to talk with people who had actually had the procedures done, rather than people with wild stories about what happened to their second cousin twice removed and her ghastly story (mostly urban myth, probably), and it was also very comforting to learn that the vast majority of patients had gone through the surgery with no problem at all and were delighted with their results, as was the case with me.

Know any heart surgery online groups? I looked for over an hour and found only one currently active group
and I have trouble using the site. Almost all groups are old or no one answers member messages.
