But it's another world... couldn't these ladies actually be cyborgs... or big hairy cyclops' who want to lead you to destruction? 🤷‍♀️ That other world may be far more advanced and could trick visitors with holograms of what you *want* to see... you get close and BOOO, gotcha! Why not. It would be the biggest exploration of my life and I’ve been many places and done many things.
 
Being literal the portal is open & large so peeking in to try to see what's there is what I'd do.
If unable to see, I'd go in to check out what is there. Then if it wasn't to my liking I'd go back thru the same portal.
 
I'm with you, Bretrick. Go in not. Imma stay put.

Stargate SG-1 TV series a portal favorite of mine. Preference there for me though would be to stay in ops and monitor the gate rather than enter.

I've already stepped through the portal. I'm intrigued by what I see and so far I like it. Now, I'm going to take a chance going forward to see what other wonders I might behold. Risky? Yes, but at this age, I'm willing to stick my neck out. If it goes south, and it's not all that I'd hope for, so be it. I'll deal with it.
