A Sad Anniversary

'tis true.. 38 years sounds a lot to anyone younger but in reality for those we've lost it seems in many ways like yesterday.

My mum has been gone 48 years this coming September and on the day of her Birthday which was 2 weeks ago.. I wish her Happy Birthday every year.. and I think of her most days...

Such a lovely picture of your dad, Deb.

I know all too well the hurt that loss brings.

Close your eyes and allow yourself to forget about the real world that so many have left behind, let your imagination take you away... hop on the seat behind him and go for a ride with your dad today. Keep the memories alive.

Hugs

So sorry for your pain, Deb. Your memories of him are priceless. In the end that is all we have of our loved ones but some how they help. At least they do me. Love your picture of your Dad!

Deb, people feel helpless at another's loss, certainly I do. You often hear the phrase, "time heals." Actually it doesn't heal, but it does give you the space that you need to come to terms with coping. How I cope is not to think of the date as an anniversary, more, a spiritual birthday. You might also draw comfort from Alfred Lord Tennyson's famous poem: "In Memoriam."
