A small anecdote about online shopping

I think I'm the only person in the Western world that had never bought anything online. I have a neighbor who gets meals-on-wheels and also orders her food delivered from the grocery store and she is not home-bound by a long shot. I wouldn't order produce or meat delivered, I like to see what I buy beforehand. That would probably be okay for canned goods.

Canned goods, condiments, baking needs. I buy canned San Marzano tomatoes by the case, also coconut milk. It's helpful to buy things like condiments that I would have to go to several stores to find. They're all in one place and they are shipped to me. I buy a favorite brand of white miso through Amazon that I haven't been able to find locally, and that's only one item. I buy nuts and tea by the pound, and some of my herbs come from there. I buy King Arthur Flour and Bob's Red Mill products through Amazon to save on shipping charges.

I don't buy a whole lot online and the only groceries would be things I can't find locally. I guess I still enjoy walking around the grocery store.

Mail carrier is a job I wouldn't want, even if it was just mail I delivered. I can understand her not wanting to continue to deliver the bulk she now has to deal with. I shop online for convenience and sometimes I just can't find what i'm looking for in the brick and mortar stores at reasonable prices. I mostly shop on Amazon but I have used Walmart.com and got a couple of things from Ebay. BTW anyone shopping online...sign up with Ebates.com to can get actual cash back for your purchases at participating retailers. All the major retailers and then some are connected on Ebates.
