A Sunday Afternoon Visitor

I just happened to look out yesterday and saw an animal laying in the grass. With my bad distance vision, I thought it was a small cat, then I realized it must be a rabbit. I've never seen a rabbit lay in that position and I wondered if it was injured. After I took the photo, it hopped away, so it was a okay.

I see them stretch out like that when it’s hot and humid, it’s probably just a way to relax and cool off.

I have a bunch of rabbits that live in the bushes near me. At around dusk, they come out on my lawn and gnaw at plants for a while, then just sit there, without moving for a long time. ????
