I was out for a walk with nine friends around noon yesterday, and we saw a flock of about 14 swans flying above our river. First they went northward, then decided to fly southward a little. Thrilling to watch.
Each year in winter a group of them settle in a very wide, calm area on the river. There are some good entry spots for us onto a cross-country skiing trail, and proceeding northward for 20 minutes we arrive at a great vantage point on the river bank. We've often counted around 70 swans across the water, and with binoculars we get a great view of them.
