AA Flight Attendant found dead in hotel room

This was reported about a month ago, but no conclusion has yet been reached. The flight attendant was found unresponsive with a rag stuffed into her mouth. The police are thinking it may have been a suicide. No evidence was found. The hotel staff found her two days after she was due to checkout. No reason was given as to why it took the staff so long to find her. The flight crew was LA based.

Most airlines have a policy that the flight crew travels together from the plane to their hotel rooms. Each crew member gets their own room. The men in the crew make sure the females are secured in their rooms. The females are then strongly suggested that when they lock themselves into their room, they should not leave until morning. The hotel is connected to the airport, which I think is a Marriott.

The police chief labeled this death as very suspicious. (No kidding.) American Airlines had no comments. She was 64 years of age.

Unfortunately, death happens. It happens often under inexplicable conditions and at surprising times. But, it happens. We can prepare all we like and work hard to avoid the experience, but it happens nonetheless. That's life.

No hotel i have been in do not check a room past checkout for 2 days.
Housekeeping has checkout schedules and would go prepare the room on checkout day..

If foul play i would look at the hotel staff

Unless somekind of romantic encounter gone awry have to wonder if the Philadelphia area has a serial killer hunting near or around airports. Target rich and airports being near highways make for easy travel to and from the crime scene.
 
Well, the only facts are a 66 year old female was found in a hotel room, dead, with a sock in her mouth. Whether or not the sock was the cause of death, or if there was sexual activity is unknown, until the autopsy is released.
Ain't a whole lot to go on.
 
Indeed, not enough information to truly form an opinion. That said, the sock in the mouth is a dead (sic) giveaway, I'd say.

They need to do an urgent search through CCTV to find a man wearing only one sock.
 
she had a rag stuffed in her mouth but they think it was suicide??? Really? And why didn’t her flight crew report her missing? Did she have a do not disturb sign on her room so that the maid didn’t find her? So many questions…

Usually when a death occurs and the corpse has a rag stuffed into its mouth, it is indeed surprising, but explainable. The explanation being murder.
