AARP Dues - as bad as magazine subscriptions

I don't belong to AARP. I found the advantages not to belong and seek insurance and benefits from others has far out weighed any advantages they imply.
A friend of mine has been with AARP for a while. They have been slowly looking at the advantage of dropping AARP. Just a few months ago they received a letter from AARP saying that silver sneakers would no longer be provided in their programs free of charge and that in 2019 it would cost them "X" number of dollars. They have since dropped AARP.

We get Silver Sneakers from Humana, at no charge.
 
This afternoon,I called to cancel my membership,subscription to magazines after 6 yrs. The woman I spoke to told me'you won't be getting more mail from us'.Time will tell Sue
