Hantavirus has been around for many years now Davey, especially in southern Colorado. They say to watch for the brown mice with the white stomachs for spreading the disease, as opposed to the gray mice. We get both at our house and on our property, less now that we have the cat.

We don't have cats but there are lots of rat snakes around. They do a better job than cats.

My cat has her own passe .... she's a 'sleep by day, roam by night' character. She has three neighborhood 'pals' that get together after dark, and the gang of them go hunting .... keeps rat and snake population down.

Once in a while some foreign gang shows up, and the noise level goes thru the roof! ...usually around 3 in the morning .. lol
