About medicare extra help drug subsidy programs

I have been getting the Medicare special help subsidy for low income. I have more assets now in my ✔️ checking account than is allowed. Social security sent me the review form about extra help for next year. Could I still keep getting my extra help for drug coverage? I have a very small social security check.
 

I do not know but I do know social security is a nut job about extra assets. My mother went through hell with them over a piece of property she owned that put her over the limit. Finally she sold her grave, yup. It was her burial site that had increased in value.
 

Why don't you take out your 'extra' assets. That way you won't have them in your account. Next time, plan this in advance. Is it much over the limit, or just a tad. Makes me laugh that poor folks are so scrupulous & rich folk are not.
 
Check to see if your state has a Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP). If so give them a call. The one in my state has helped me tremendously through the years.

It depends on what those assets are or where they came from. Some resources are not counted. You might want to speak to someone from SS before filling out the review. I know someone who had extra help and received a worker's compensation award and they did not count that. So you never know.
