Did you or do you attach importance to giving/receiving a gift of some kind, even just a token, for Valentine's Day?
DH and I were married on Valentine's Day...he chose the date...and he was a romantic and sentimental kinda guy, so he always gave me a Valentine and an anniversary gift. He loved "occasions"!
The first year we were married, he gave me two diamond rings. We had an enclosed carport so I gave him a garage door, et voila! we had the garage that he wished for. That was his anniversary gift. His Valentine gift was a band saw...something else he wanted.
He was a computer geek so after that first year I almost always gave him some sort of accessory for his desktop/laptop/cell phone, whatever was the newest thing. I miss not being able to surprise him with the latest new electronic toy because he got such a kick out of them
