It's never made a difference if I don't know the acronym meaning because it's always a superfluous comment and not really relevant to the post.

The only one I would use is LOL to indicate that my post was made in jest and not meant to be serious...just in case someone might take offense.
I could insert a smiling emoji but that takes too long LOL!

FOMO IMO LMK if I can TTYTT, IIRC some provide TMI. Like they are TOT. Personally IDC. TBH using acronyms IMO while modern is SNAFU

I don't like 'em and I never use them. Seems that folks that use tiny keys on smartphones like them. Not me; I use a full key board and I took a touch typing course way back in the late 60s.

For the younger generation that don't know what a full keyboard looks like, I ask you to look at this photo and learn!
Y'all probably ain't gonna have any luck with that request....

As I'm officially old...I HATE acronyms! Reminds me too much of Army days...and work!

Didn't see "DW" = Dear Wife.

Didn't see "DW" = Dear Wife.
Thanks, I'll add it. I'm trying to stay with the ones that tend to not be obvious.

I skipped LOL, BTW and a few others in common use. It's hard to imagine anyone on a forum might be unfamiliar with them.

Matrix set this thread up so I can edit the first post. You'll see the additions there.

I generally ignore posts with lots of acronyms or 'text speak', or ones starting 'so'. If a post is worth reading it should be worth writing it properly.
IMO :devilish:

I understand skipping a post if there are too many unknown acronyms - but skipping just because the poster started with a word you dont start sentences with??

seems a bit OTT to me.

FWIS = For What It's Worth (this one doesn't make sense - Worth starts with a W, not an S)?

When I see a bunch of these in a post, I move on. Not my job to figure out what someone is trying to say.
