Actor/comedian,Jerry Van Dyke has died age 86,had been in failing health according to his wife.Jerry was younger brother of Dick Van Dyke
Jerry's best known TV roles were:
"Dave" on NBC sitcom 'My Mother The Car' '65-'66. Ann Sothern voiced the talking car
"Luther" on ABC sitcom'Coach" '89-'97. He was assistant football coach to Craig T.Nelson's character

Rob Petrie of the Dick Van Dyke show was a father figure to me.
Jerry played his brother in a few episodes. It's where I learned he is (was) an accomplished banjo player and comedian.
He's up there with Jim Nabors for all around nice guy on all accounts.
