Dorothy Malone who won a best supp actress Oscar for her role in 1956 movie'Written in The Wind" died yesterday in Dallas age 93.
Her best known TV role was "Constance MacKenzie' in ABC's drama'Peyton PLace" which ran on ABC '64-'69. It was TV's 1st night time 'soap opera' became a big hit. The show was based on author Grace Metalious's best selling novel
The last movie she appeared in was 'Basic Instinct" '92 Sue

My dad likes to read about celebrities who have lived into their nineties. Being 91 himself, it gives him hope, I guess of course he knows these older actors. He's really happy about Doris Day.

For myself, I only see people of celebrity dying younger than me, and that's depressing.

RIP, Dorothy Malone. She was one of the queens of melodrama, no doubt about that. Lots of flaring nostrils. Movies were full of such glamorous escapism during that era.

There are people like her who haven't been seen in ages and it's always a surprise to find out they were still alive and living apparently normal lives.
