Georgia Engel,wonderful comic actress died last Fri at age 70.
Her best known TV roles were;
"Georgette Baxter' on the Mary Tyler Moore Show' 70-'77.She played Ted Baxter's{late Ted Knight} girlfriend then wife.She joined the show in the 3rd yr
"Pat MacDougall' on'Everybody Loves Raymond' '2003-2005.She played Robert's{Brad Garrett} mother -in law
Betty White, Ed Asner,Gavin McLeod are the remaining cast members from MTM still with us

I'm one of a few people on the planet who didn't watch Everybody Loves Raymond, but I loved Georgette on Mary Tyler Moore.

The article in today's NYTimes stated she was a Christian Scientist and didn't consult with doctors
She is survived by 2 sisters,Robin and Penny
I didn't watch much of Everybody Loves Raymond,but she was funny as "Georgette' on MTM

I liked her character on MTM. Never watched the Raymond show.
I agree about COD. I think it should be included as a way to increase awareness of the maladies that exist, that can strike anyone down.
