Actress Jessica Walter dies aged 80

Emmy Award-winning actress Jessica Walter, known for roles in Arrested Development and Archer, has died aged 80.

Her daughter Brooke Bowman confirmed the news in a statement that praised her long career on the stage and screen.

She said: “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom Jessica. A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off.

“While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class and overall joie de vivre.”

To me, she will always be Evelyn Draper, out of "Play Misty for me".

awww I thought I didn't know who she was until someone mentioned Evelyn in Play Misty for me.... wow was she 80?.... incredible. Loved that film, may she R.I.P

Her only Emmy award was Best Actress in limited series for'Amy Prentiss '74-'75.She played the chief of detectives in San Francisco Police Dept

I have several DVD's of "Mannix." She guest starred in several episodes. I also remember her in "Three's a Crowd," which was a spinoff of "Three's Company." Besides her obvious beauty, she was outstanding in dramatic roles.
Often times, I would recognize her & say, "Hey, that's Jessica Walter," then I'd make sure to watch it, even if I wasn't interested in the show.
