OA in lower back started to come on when I was 18 and I'm headed to 80 this year.

I've done lots of dancing, exercising, walking, chiro work, D.O. work all my life. What is helping me maintain at this late date is:

Cosamin DS (into my 6th month with it) Ortho MD says there is like a cushion at the bone on bone area of my right knee. I do believe it's the Cosamin DS

I heard about Cosamin DS about 15 yrs ago from a friend who was taking it, but I didn't follow up with it, kick myself for not.

Higher doses of EPA/DHA Balanace Omega 3's by Jarrow. Talked to them and they said OK to take more than the directions...so I take 4-5 softgels with food daily.

Turmeric Curcumin 3 softgels daily by Sports Research.

Manganese is a vital mineral for joints and I came up LOW on labs in 2005. So I take some extra Manganese every other day or so and there is a small amount in Cosamin.

I'm no doctor, only to myself. Do your own research as usual.:love_heart:

I have OA and I take a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement.c I know it works because if I stop taking it, my joints will talk to me - loud - within a week or so. I've been taking it for several years. My doctor recommended it.

A friend who just died last year at 95 and was walking all over the place until her heart gave out, attributes g/c taking for about 25 yrs to her continued walking. I hear good things about Cosamin DS hence why I stick with it. I've taken various kinds over the years but didn't stay with them...off and on...now it's ON.
