Have you ever noticed that most of the advice on retirement especially on msn money, go banking and others is written
by younger people who have education but no experience. Many of these sites are designed to lead investors to other sites
that will offer services for a fee. I have been retired for 7 years my wife for 5 years and we are firmly committed to our self directed
retirement accounts. For years Fisher Investments has been trying to get us to let them invest our money at about 1.5% of AUM
(assets under management) they want not a share of what your money earns but in 20 years they want to glean 30% of what you
have earned and accumulated. Beware of those who hide their greed under the guise of fiduciary advisers to collect 1.5% a year.
1 million gets them $15,000 plus you still pay the fees on what ever they invest in in your name.
I am looking for discussions with other seniors who have been successful as self directed investors.
