After over 30 years, alone

I have always had at least one child at home with me but now my youngest daughter is attending a bible college, as of two weeks ago. It is a bit weird, but since it is only temporary, not that big a deal. It seemed tougher to handle my daughter leaving since this might lead to her leaving permanently, which for her sake I hope happens. My daughter is ADD and mildly autistic, but things are working out for her thanks to some wonderful folks at the college.

I didn't take to the impending Empty Nest when it came up at all! So if your wife starts having weepy moods for
no reason, here's your hint. I tried not to show it but it just would explode sometimes.

Your wife will be home soon & your daughter will be back from school as soon as she's done. Try to enjoy your time to yourself by doing something you like to do or always wanted to, but didn't have the time to do it. That could help you pass the time until you wife is back.

I tell you..I was absolutey broken with empty nest syndrome when my daughter left home. It honestly was like a death in the family, She was 23... and it took me several years to get over it...

I'd still want her to move back home now if she wanted to, which she wouldn't.. and she's 49

My oldest daughter has been calling every few days to talk and is wanting to have me over for dinner with her family. What a blessing she is, along with my youngest daughter that has been texting me.
