With the onset of Summer, and more outdoors activities, Age Spots on the skin are one of the "side effects" of getting older. I have found a simple, and inexpensive solution that seems to work quite well.
In a small plastic bottle, mix equal portions of Olive Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, and water. Shake it up well, then dab some of this solution on the skin with a Q-Tip. You have to work quickly, as the ingredients will quickly begin to separate. This potion absorbs fairly quickly into the skin, with minimum odor, etc., and an application before and after going outdoors, seems to work quite well...for me, at least. I get these spots on my lower arms and the back of my hands, but I think this mixture works better than any sun screen I've tried.
