Airline Holiday travel

This holiday season has been a real mess for those traveling by air. Between Covid and the weather, thousands of flights have been either cancelled or delayed, and huge numbers of passengers have been stranded at the airports.

My wife's Sister lives in Boise, ID, and her daughter lives in Seattle. The niece and family flew to Boise last Thursday, and had to wait at the airport in Seattle for almost half a day before their flight left. Then, they were supposed to fly back today, but it appears that some bad weather has hit that region, and now they may have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to return home.

We had a nice phone conversation with all of them today, but they are a bit upset about having to call their workplaces tomorrow morning and not be back at work.

Yes, it has been really bad due to airline staff being quarantined during Covid, plus bad weather in certain parts of the country. It was bad enough traveling by air prior to Covid, now it is a nightmare. :(

I wouldn't think of flying anywhere now, or for a long time. Between the uncertainty of the flights and sitting on a plane with hundreds of other people, I would rather wait until things settle down and get more back to normal. Save up some money and plan a longer, more enjoyable trip later in the coming year or even sometime the year after.
