Because of its value, I would have sent it FedEx. People that have items checked and are very valuable should make sure that the correct airport tag gets put on the luggage and/or cargo. For instance, if you are in Los Angeles, LAX is the correct airport code and if you are checking luggage and cases to Philadelphia, make sure the tag reads PHL and not PHI, which is the code for Pinheiro and is in Brazil. One letter changes everything. Just like we do sometimes, the ticket agent's finger does not hit the correct key.
