I dunno. I definitely would cut Capone no slack, and he was undeniablly an abominable villain. But in today's context, his vileness has been outdone by some of the mass murderers of recent years.
The Las Vegas shooter (Paradise, Nevada) took 60 lives, and caused more that 860 injuries. The Pulse Nightclub shooter, in Orlando Florida, killed 49 people. These recent murders have, in a way, also been more impersonal... Capone's victims were mostly allied with his illegal-business competitors.

I’m able to understand the old fashioned gangsters, mobsters, mafiosi, etc… that were driven by greed and personal gain in crime as a business more than I am the senseless killing and brutality that we see on the news day in and day out.

I believe Al Capone was a power hungry psychopath who's only allegiance was money.
