All Things Miami Vice TV Series 1984 - 1989

We all three watched it every Friday night. we thought Edward James Olmos was the coolest guy ever and we loved some of the minor characters like the regular informants.

Never liked the show. Real police claimed that the show wasn't real. Cops jumping from one vice to the other. To me it seemed like a 60 minute. music video. A couple of pretty boy cops in a fancy car. I always preferred Crime Story. It was more real. The cops were average looking, not fancy dressers. Didn't drive around in expensive cars.

Like real law enforcement officers, non law enforcement Miami Vice viewers knew the TV series for what the producers presented for glitzy entertainment. It's popularity dovetailed the late 70,s early 80,s New Wave music genre and it worked.
