Am I the only one? Superbowl

It wasn’t a bad game to watch, but KC really disappointed me with their defense. I will say in their defense that the field appeared to be very slick. I am not a fan of either team. The rendition of the “National Anthem” (country style) was very good. I never understood why they went to having a flyover at the SB. I think it’s a waste of fuel.

Someone mentioned that there is something called Superbowl or Superbore going on today. I don't have a TV and I also have no interest. Am I the only male in the USA who isn't glued to this extravaganza today?
No you are not. In fact, for years, a friend and I would make it a point to spend the day out in the woods in the cold winter of Montana on Superbowl Sunday. And one year our local ski area shut down at noon on Superbowl Sunday so someone (probably the staff) could go home and watch the Superbowl. Obviously, the more serious skiiers were unhappy about it. After that, they kept running all day on Superbowl Sunday. So I suppose they got some feedback about it.

It helped more to be in Kansas City! How about those Chiefs! Regardless, it was one of the better Super Bowls with a well-played game by both teams. Too bad the field was like a skating rink. Who picks the guys who prepare the field for Super Bowls....what a mess it was!
When the Eagles don't make the playoffs, I'm a Chiefs fan. So for me this was the perfect game. I could be happy for either team.

The team we lost to in the Super Bowl has our old coaching staff....Reid and Spagnola which made it interesting for Philly fans.

You can bet that other teams are now hoping to steal some of the Philly coaching staff ... always the coaching carousel going on ....

There were several commercials about Jesus. I wasn't aware he liked football. 🤷‍♂️ I also read that those ads cost $20 million. Wow, I bet the divine one would have felt better if that slush fund was used to feed and care for the poor instead.

Personally, I thought the J.Lo/Ben Affleck Dunkin Donuts ad was hilarious!

Nope. I ended my following of football back when it came out about how concussions ruined the life of a player named Junior Seau. I still miss the strategy of it but it certainly does open up ones calendar for other things.

I don't care about the super bowl. Or any football game.
But I heard a football is made out of pig skin.

No, you're not the only one. Ever since Jerry capitulated to that bench warming self-important has been QB. I gave up watching.

Funny how instead of going into city councils, working in collaboration with various uplifting charities, he instead made it all about him.

Yeah, he did get me to not watch what wasn't important and focus on better things, so there's a silver lining.

Reminds me when Troy Aikman retired. He was sitting with his wife and looked on the mantle, there's the Lombardi trophy. He looks at his wife and says "Did we win the Superbowl?"

She replied to the affirmative and then he said "Well, then that's it for me" he couldn't remember winning it.

Well, the people that installed my new gutters braced my T.V. Antenna up against the house which of course gave way, and the pole and antenna all came crashing down.

So no Superbowl for me, today I got it all replaced, and this one sits on a tripod in the middle of my roof, the best part, is I didn't have to pay for anything as the Roofing and Gutter company paid for it, as they were the ones that screwed it up.

Good game between two of the best teams - but it would have been better if the painted NFL logos had actually dried, considering that the sod used was a grass specifically designed for AZ's desert-like conditions. But it's naturally a slick grass, more slippery than traditional turf.

You'll notice it gave KC a slight edge because they had played on that field in January and complained about it then (and that was without all the gaudy NFL logos painted on). Their players came out for the SB wearing appropriate cleats. The Eagles all had to change shoes. Even with better cleats, you can see players from both teams slipping whenever they tried to come to a quick stop after a run, or turn suddenly, during the entire game. It's amazing nobody pulled a muscle or twisted an ankle!

The slick field negated the pass rush of both teams. KC adapted better by sending their players in on situation-specific blitzes so the linemen could just charge straight ahead and not have to try rushing the edges - again, knowing the field gave them a leg up on D strategy.

Give the Eagles' premier pass rusher Haason Reddick credit; he kept pretty quiet about his complaints afterwards but if it hadn't been for sliding around on that field, he might have given Mahomes some genuine trouble.

The two teams were about as evenly matched as could be. It comes down to who got the breaks, and KC got the gift fumble from Hurts that turned into 6 pts. Eagles fans complained about the PI call, but it was that fumble much earlier that allowed KC to keep pace so that the Eagles couldn't pull away for a rout. KC ran almost an even 50/50 run/pass game, whereas the Eagles were forced to pass more.

As usual, the announcers were so-so in quality and the camera work was mediocre.
