Amazon for groceries

I think my question was lost in a different thread, so I'll ask again for anyone who orders groceries from Amazon: it wasn't til I placed the order that it said it'd take a month for delivery- although that's not what it said when I chose each individual item. Does shipping/delivery usually take that long, or is it because more people are placing orders these days due to c.virus?

Also, which delivery service do they use? I'm guessing it's not USPS?
 

Amazon runs their own delivery trucks here in Central Oklahoma.
I'm guessing they do lots of places. Prime is written on their sides.

I don't have Prime... didn't want to sign up because I don't buy from Amazon enough to make it worth the cost.
This was the first time I'd ordered groceries. Mostly all I buy from them are books. Books come through the regular postal service, but I figured it'd be different with large boxes of groceries.
 
Can't you order groceries in a Grocery store? I had to Google the Midwest as I didn't know which states they were. You have too many states for me to remember all of them; i.e., if you live in Nebraska you would have Family Fair.

I use Amazon (my sons's as he has Prime) for Screensaver for my iphone or a book for non-food items.

I found the nearest Walmart doesn't deliver, and the main grocery store (a regional chain) charges $9.95 for delivery which I think is excessive. I didn't need to pay shipping charges to Amazon because I ordered more than the minimum required for free shipping.
 
Walmart charges here too and if you get grocery delivery it cost me $30 one time (I give at least 10% to the delivery person who also gets the stores delivery charge). It I pick up at grocery there is no charge.
 
So is this an Amazon Pantry order, a fresh food order, or just staples/canned goods as a regular Amazon order? Make sure you are ordering from Amazon and not one of their "marketplace" vendors. The delivery date is normally stated on the items in your cart. (Some things in your order may ship faster than others.) I have Amazon Prime so I typically get things quickly, though in these strange times it is RARELY within the 2-day shipping as normally promised.

I get Amazon deliveries from all the carriers... UPS, USPS, Amazon delivery, and sometimes Fedex. It depends on your location.

Same with me, and it says deliveries take long due to the virus etc. I like prime for the extra tv šŸ˜‚ as if I donā€™t have enough with Comcast.

Yes, it's just a regular Amazon order, not Prime. Thanks for the info.
 
I have Prime now so I'm supposed to get things within 2 days but sometimes that doesn't happen. Amazon has put notices on their site about changes in shipping policies due to the virus. I didn't see it there today. The only items considered grocery that I order from Amazon are Madhava agave, Bigelow chai-vanilla tea bags, Jelly Belly and Crush water enhancers and Arnold Palmer (Arizona) Half & Half packets (lemonade mixed with tea).

Mostly UPS. I gotten a few things and this is the way they delivered.
