Amazon launches in-garage deliveries for some customers in Canada

The e-commerce giant said the garage drop-offs are now available to Canadians who are enrolled in its Prime service and have a compatible myQ Smart Garage.

Living in the U.S.A. we have had Amazon Key In Garage Delivery available for several years. It worked good for us until about a year ago they changed the service where it was only available on one day per week, you could specify the day, so your Amazon orders were consolidated so you only got one delivery per week. They would deliver to your door for free any day of the week but if you wanted it in the garage you had to wait till your one day of the week. I think they would further deliver in your garage any day if you wanted to pay an additional fee of $1.99 per order if I remember correctly.

Because Amazon degraded the Key In Garage Delivery service we no longer use it. Further, it seems like most items used to be delivered to our door, but more and more items are delivered via USPS so most packages we have to go to the neighborhood postal station to pick them up. For us, Amazon is not nearly as convenient as it used to be.
