Amazon Prime - Are You Paying to be Ad Free?

We have Amazon Prime and tonight it asked if we wanted to pay $2.99 to be ad free. I declined. First, I want to see how many commercials there would be. This was the first time we‘ve watched anything this month and rarely watch much anytime.

My logic is that I can always use a bathroom break.

Agree. And, so true. When watching a no commercial movie (comes on our public education channel on Friday night) I often wish they had a break or two so I can 'go'. We've a public library within walking distance so we go and get free dvd movies. Then we can hit 'pause' and 'go'. Commercial free, pay nothing, and with breaks for snacks and to 'go'. Every thing you've always wished for. LOL

Nope. I don't watch enough to justify the extra cost...

I wish they would make Discovery Plus AD free.. I'd pay for that. The Ads on there are ridiculous, sometimes only 3 minutes break between ads.. ...and unlike other channels you can't fast forward through them... very annoying..

I tend to drop my whole Amazon subscription this time of year. I prefer to shop locally when I can. So many local stores will bring your stuff out to you now, so it's very convenient. I do not mind shopping at Target or Big Lots, but holy gosh, I hate having to go into a Walmart. Place is so big and disorganized. I just want to go in, grab the few things I need, and get outta there. Walmart is not a fast shopping experience.

I have switched to local stores as much as I can to support the local economy.

I'm not paying for ad-free, and so far the ads aren't too bad, except they don't have closed captioning (I guess that is what CC is, I'm not sure what is 'closed' about it), so I have trouble understanding some of them - tho I guess the Limu Emu ad was someone who couldn't say it, so maybe I wasn't supposed to be able to understand it. I do like the little boy with the baby emu ad (tho that was on Freevee not Prime).

Naaah. I have Amazon Prime but mostly use it for the shipping. And the few shows I watch are on Freevee which carry ads anyway. Do the Freevee ads go away too?
When I signed up for no ads on Prime there was no mention of Freevee. I am not much of a Freevee user, but I seriously doubt that Freevee, which appears to be paid for by ads, is included in the no ads deal.
