Amazon.....this is bizarre!

We spent two months there last winter after discovering it during a family wedding the previous winter. Like it so much we'll be there again for 3 months this winter. We've got free wifi where we stay, and internet on my phone, so I'll still be in touch.

Sounds like life is good in Annie land. I wish you a great time.

No kidding! It's weird because we've always been happy with Amazon. Deliveries are always very fast.

My favorite online store too. It is a weird situation. Good luck.

Yes, bizarre Ameriscot. Good Luck! :)

From my experience lately, it seems like Amazon is taking on more than they can handle. .. as in getting too big for their britches or something.
I can only talk to the US service I get.

But I have found that their 'two day Prime' has turned into three or four day in the past month or so.
I really don't care, as I'm dropping Prime next month anyway. But that's the service I'm seeing more and more.

Then they've changed their simple billing practices they had for a long time. I get emails now that bill each item individually if you order two or more things. Seems like a lot more work on their part to try and confuse you...??
(Because many times the email prices don't match the original order prices on their website.)

I have noticed that their e mail notifications leave much to be desired!! Most cases I don't get one or the tracking does not work!! Received some items even before an e mail!!

Ken, I can't think of any other complaint I've had about them. But the majority of my experience is UK.

I know you will have a grand time! My wife and I use to do scuba diving - never done any off of Thailand, but I'll bet the waters there would be exceptional.
I've had similar problems with delivery, but it was due, in part, to delivery promises made by the courier. The driver, unable to meet the delivery date, would mark the package delivered, thinking he would make it the next day - I imagine he was improving his delivery record. This happened several times. The first time, I called in a panic thinking he delivered it to the wrong address. This resulted in a chain of events that led to mass confusion (apparently, they are very easy to confuse). Now, when subsequent occurrences of this happens, I simply wait an extra day.

Their tracking is updated by the service that makes the delivery. When the delivery company punches in the information that the package is the delivered, that's how they know and send the notice. You should always have the package before they send and email saying it was delivered. I have had delivery services mark delivered and the company I purchased from was told a package was delivered when it wasn't that is where problems often arise, I wrote about this in another thread some months ago. UPS entered the info of package as being delivered and it was still on the truck, even the post office argued with me till I told them there were workers right outside my door who said no one came by and back and forth it went till the postal driver admitted the package was still on the truck and his reason for not delivering the package that day. Laziness really, large parcel, didn't want to leave it downstairs in the hall as well he/she shouldn't have and they didn't seem fit to bring it up the stairs/elevator at that particular time of morning. So you could say it was laziness and or they were too
hurried between deliveries. But in the mean time, everyone on the phone was telling me the package was delivered.

BTW! Annie, so glad things worked out and you received your kayaks, I remember when I used participate with aa kayaking group, I was looking at those inflatables, more so the boats, considering, there's no way I'd stay upright in a kayak, I've already tried, it made me dizzier than I already am. LOL!

We had a wonderful time last year, but this winter we can kayak any time. My stepdaughter can scuba dive, but we only snorkel. Lots of great places to do both in the Gulf of Thailand.

Thanks April! It's just the one kayak - tandem. We've got one paddle but will buy another when we get there. I've done kayaking in a regular kayak for years and hubby's kayaked for about 40 years. Bought a new suitcase today and are hoping we can get the kayak and equipment in it.

Thanks April..By the way, I am a retired FedEx driver, but not home delivery..2122.gif

I normally get an e mail when the item is ordered this is about 1 minute after I submit it. Then in about a day or 2 I am suppose to get an e mail the "your order has been shipped" this includes a tracking number. Then I can wait and track the package as it travels from the shipper through the travel system until it states "out for delivery".

The above is what I mean by their e mails are not coming..

Here is an example of e mails that I got yesterday for an item that I ordered..I can now track it by signing into Amazon..

I'm still getting the same emails as before. Maybe the US changed, but UK didn't? Thought they did everything exactly the same.

Here is the latest..

Did you see the notation in the bottom right corner under shipment details: about the carrier not providing tracking details for this shipment? In instances of that nature you won't get updates, at least not unless the deliverer sends a confirmation to Amazon the package was delivered. This sometimes happens depending on the arrangements amazon has with any particular company, you sometimes have to check the particulars of the shipping details and contracting agreements when ordering something on Amazon.

Some of our packages are tracked, some are not. When it's a marketplace seller it doesn't seem to be tracked and the delivery can vary. Anything direct from Amazon is Royal Mail, unless it's a large package.
