Amazonians??

I buy almost everything from Amazon... electronics, housewares, hardware, some clothing My wife used to even use Amazon to buy groceries through their Amazon "Fresh," which is WholeFoods. If things keep going the way they are, some day, we'll even buy our cars from them. :ROFLMAO:

It just makes things a lot simpler. They're reliable and easy to deal with, and that's a lot more than you can say about local stores. As far as I'm concerned, the less I have to deal with real people, the better.
 

I’m willing to pay more to keep local stores in business. If I can’t get it here, I’ll order from Amazon. IMO, it’s more important to keep a vibrant downtown core, as much as possible. They’re already competing with malls.
 
I buy a lot from Amazon, but I also go out of my way to drive to larger towns to shop as well, for the simple reason, that I believe Amazon ( which is not a store but hundreds of thousands of businesses large and small)... may be 'easy to deal with '... now...but come the day when they have no competition, ( and I believe it will come) then what ?

..for that reason I feel it's a must to shop on the high street and in the malls where possible. However it does sadden me in that the choice is taken from us very often .. because stores are not carrying the range of stock that they once did, so we're forced to buy online or do without....

I buy nearly everything from Amazon.

Even an inline hot water heater (small). Cheapest one at Home Depot was over 400.00, and I would have to pay shipping.. Found a comparable one at Amazon for 279.00.

My stove pipe was cheaper at Amazon also.

I'm always amazed at what all they sell. I get free shipping too.
 
I order through Amazon a lot. But about 30-50% of our purchases are through the Marketplace, e.g., independent sellers who "set up shop" as Marketplace vendors - or often, companies who add Amazon as an on-line sales arm.

And sometimes when I want something very specific I go directly to the company's website, because they don't offer their entire product line on Amazon. Circulon cookware, for example, only sells about 40% of their actual product offerings on their Amazon page.

It is simply more efficient and convenient to order through on-line. Why waste time schlepping around in stores and driving from place to place, fighting traffic and wasting gas when it can be delivered to your doorstep?
 
I currently do, since they also are connected to whole foods a few blocks from my location.

I tried it the other day for ordering food and curbside pick up, worked just fine.

Helps not to run all over different stores for products. The crime All over is one reason, saving on fuel is another example. Looking into deliveries from most stores...
 
It depends. If i don't need it right now, I'll probably use Amazon. But I do like shopping in brick & mortar stores. But I'm not like a few I know, who are high priests in the Amazonian Church, and get deliveries every day.

I feel the same. I used to order a lot from Amazon when they were new. They have excellent customer service, or they did. Now I like to support brick and mortar stores and local businesses to help the recovery effort as well as getting something I need without having to wait for our messed up mail to deliver it or porch thieves to steal it. 🤔
 
I did most of my Christmas shopping with Amazon this year. I love it. I have gotten some great stuff. I have a credit card that gives me cash back bonus every month, and I can use that bonus on Amazon when I pay with that card. I try to save up my bonus's over a couple months, so I can put it toward higher priced items at Amazon.
In fact, I just ordered a $50 item, used the bonus and paid $20. OK, a Christmas gift for myself, but a good deal
 
i never have bought anything from them ever.
i have no plans on my entire life tied to them ever.

Live close to their headquarters and they have huge turnover and very sketchy business practices.
My son worked for their HR department for a year left as he said was too despicable to do anymore.

Always amusing that some people made decades of judgement on various brick and mortar stores...... but will support a company that has had employees wearing diapers because bathroom breaks may make it impossible to meet insane quotas they set for people.

Sorry for all, no one is free of issues, we do what we need to get through difficult moments.

It comes down to choices and no one should put up with bad.
 
Some items Amazon, some others Walmart grocery, big store, or online. Most groceries are from Publix.
I like Ace Hardware for a variety of things.
