2 in 12 years. 1(self) 1(wife). You call them when you need quick action at hosp. They treat emergencies first, no waiting. We also have copay insurance for emergency trips.
I decided to edit and change my reply.I think the better question why someone would keep track of how many times they have called the ambulance for their diabetes and seek to benchmark it against other people on the internet, rather than, I dont know, asking about how often you are testing and monitoring your insulin numbers to avoid having to keep the ambulance to the sugar clinic on your fast dial. But perhaps that's just my view of the world.
Well, I’ve called them when I needed to GET to the hospital without dying first. I was actually in a cardiologist office, once, and while the cardiologist was feeding me nitro his nurse called them.2 in 12 years. 1(self) 1(wife). You call them when you need quick action at hosp. You are lucky! Is it diabetes 1 or 2? I was prediabetic for a long time and then I began swimming and son of a gun, my A1C count dropped and stayed down. I gained weight because of the covid shut down, and when the pool reopened I started going 5 days a week to lose weight and I think my blood pressure has dropped.Never. And I am diabetic as well, though I deal with it via my diet (no insulin, no drugs to speak of).
@Liza1948 Ms Liza, is it possible that you can post a pic of your ambulance, your gazebo and your Mustang? I’m just curious as to what all these things look like. There’s an old saying, seeing is believing, maybe you’ve heard that one before? I’d just like a look at these things that are causing turmoil in your days. Better still if you could send a photo of the ambulance and Mustang parked side by side. That is, of course, unless one of your neighbors has taken them from your property.I think the better question why someone would keep track of how many times they have called the ambulance for their diabetes and seek to benchmark it against other people on the internet, rather than, I dont know, asking about how often you are testing and monitoring your insulin numbers to avoid having to keep the ambulance to the sugar clinic on your fast dial. This happened when my husband cut two of the end of his fingers off. They passed our house on the way to the wrong address.Only one time did a ambulance show up at our house and it was a wrong address. They were looking for Stone Mountain and we live on Storm Mountain. We told them how to get to Stone Mountain and they took off again.
The paramedics asked me to go into the backyard and find his fingers. Yeah, right, like that was going to ever happen. However, a neighbor went and found them, but they were fingertips and could not be reattached.Once for my husband. It was a very hot day and he rushed up the stairs too quickly. He collapsed. They blamed dehydration, he thinks it was low blood pressure because of his meds. Whatever caused it, it was scary. I was cool & calm until the paramedics took over. Then I started shaking and couldn’t think clearly.
One good thing the paramedics didn't have take me too the hospital. Paramedics said my doctor is having me take to much insulin causing it to drop. I live two miles from my city which makes it real close. How many times has a ambulance come to your house? I called them for me because of my diabetes twice in six years but my girlfriend she had them for eight times in six years.
