..says this guy.

I don't know if he's right but I've watched the whole video and he seems to know what he's talking about!

Major Shortages will include.. Fertilizer.. Beef, Flour, Wheat, Corn.. Vegetable Oils.. Vegetables both fresh, frozen and canned .. ( aluminium shortage).. Baby formula.. Chicken & Eggs...

I'll admit. It was pretty strange to walk into Safeway and see beef on sale for $1.99-$5.99 lb and go to the eggs and see 75% of the shelf space empty.

I remember when reading the bible it spoke about floods, fires, wars, famine and pestilence. I thought that with our vaccines, the last wasn't a big deal. Along comes covid.

Famine. Well, we're getting a "tiny" taste of what it's like to see what it can be like. Imagine ALL store shelves at 25% of capacity......

Wars, yeah, they're happening and a big one is coming. The old Chinese curse comes to mind.

"May you live in interesting times" the history of floods, famines, pestilence is well documented.

We're now starting another.

We have become spoiled. Our predecessors only had access to food that was in season, apart from those items which could be preserved by bottling and drying. Now, most food is available all year round, thanks to imports. We have come to rely too much on supplies from other countries. Can't speak for America but in the UK, we need to stop building houses on farmland and become as self-sufficient as possible.

Bad weather affects the food supplies. The storm deluge in CA devastated the winter produce crop. Kind of hard to grow lettuce or strawberries or asparagus in 2' of muddy water! CA grows more than 90% of the lettuce sold in the US.

On the good side, the vineyards are lovin' it. Drink more wine, LOL!
Yeah, the ones that didn't burn in a wildfire. Hopefully they're not lovin' it just because they have less competition. 😟

Our oranges are bitter this year. Someone told me Sumo oranges are still good. Maybe they're not grown in Calif.

We were told last year that at this time...beginning in Jan 2023 we would be seeing a huge shortage of anything made with wheat and other grains. Evidently there would be a shortage of bread and pasta. I'm not seeing it. And all kinds of cereal are on sale at local stores....as they always are this time of year.

When there is a food shortage, what do you all stock-up on?

I speed over to Bel Air Market and grab a bag of flour and a bag of sugar, the large jars of smooth peanut butter and strawberry jelly, bags of pasta, rice, and lintels, a couple boxes of chicken stock, a few cartons of butter, frozen veggies, several cans of tuna, which reminds me to grab a big jar of mayo, several cans of beans, 5 or 6 pounds of ground beef and a bunch of chicken thighs.

By the time we eat through all that, I'm over the price hikes.

(I don't do food storage)

we've been aware of the upcoming...worldwide food shortage for quite sometime..also the production of our food by companies that have to use natural gas...creates bigger problems...aluminum plants are closing all over the world...that's been happening for over a year...some food comes in cans..
the dept of agriculture puts out a report on crop yields and the amount that's going out of country...brace for impact luvie...be prepared...hugs

I am not a prepper. However, living in a snowy climate and having gone through some pretty good storms before going through the pandemic, I’m never caught with an empty pantry.

Since the pandemic you can count on being able to borrow a roll of toilet paper or paper towels here too.
