America's next producers of ventilators could be Ford and General Motors

DETROIT - At least two of Michigan's biggest automakers could be the country's next producers of ventilators.

Spokespeople from Ford and General Motors both said the automakers have discussed the prospect of manufacturing breathing apparatuses - machines the country is in dire need while it anticipates an exponential rise in coronavirus patients.

The death rate will soar. Even their battery-powered toy cars don't work.
Ford & GM's instruction manuals have a list of tow-truck companies & the lord's prayer in them.

It would be wise for the auto makers to assist in this demand. With everyone being told to stay home, and the economic uncertainties for the next few months, I suspect new car sales will decline substantially. These major auto plants could be modified to produce needed medical supplies far faster than medical plants could be built or expanded.
