An act of nature can suddenly become a danger. Be aware.

This wasn't me, I found this on a news feed I watch. But, at our farm we had a giant branch fall off a "Big" Sycamore right on top of our truck's camper shell. It smashed it significantly. Also, one went through our roof in a big storm, it sounded like a bomb went off.

Dennis when you copy something from a news-feed or similar, it's best to put it in Italics and then quote your source it's internet netiquette ... just saying!!

Anyway I'm pleased it wasn't yours

The willows and red/silver maples around here seem to have this happen not infrequently. Quite a few friends with damaged homes and endless chats with insurance agencies and then yet again with contractors hired by insurance to fix the damage. I heard where I live in Ontario the nursery will ask if you buy a willow tree how far from the house you want to plant. too close and they won't sell the tree apparently. perhaps liability

I spent lotsa money getting rid of 3 huge trees in my back yard. One was on a slope & pointed towards my neighbor's house where they have kids in their back yard, swimming & they have lots of parties. Right after that, another tree fell on my neighbor's balcony.
I didn't want to wait for #3, so I had that one removed, too.
A few days later, the news reported two sleeping kids killed in their home when a tree fell on their house.

Big trees are beautiful....in a forest where there are no homes.
