Foods that were trendy. Chocolate cake with tomato soup, anyone? She even has a recipe for green bean casserole, but it's a new version because she's kind of meh about cream of mushroom soup and canned green beans.

It's a fun website. She tries old recipes, sometimes improves upon them, tests them on her husband (a willing participant), and posts pictures.

I'm going to make that Black Magic Chocolate cake...the one with tomato soup. Just can't resist trying it. Many years ago, my mother saw the original recipe for tomato soup cake in the "This Week" supplement in the Sunday paper. It was delicious, and I still make it from time to time. Whenever we'd have somebody coming over for coffee, she'd serve tomato soup cake, or if we had company for dinner, we could count om tomato soup cake for dessert. She'd never tell what it was until after it was eaten! I figure if tomato soup cake was that good, then the chocolate cake with tomato soup in it will be good, too.

I enjoyed that website as well and remember eating the tomato soup cake which my Mom made. I'm wondering if it would turn out and taste the same as it did then. Years ago when you opened the can of soup it was a struggle to get it out it was so thick. These days it just pours out.
