An Outstanding Movie

We went to see the new Tom Hanks movie...."A beautiful day in the Neighborhood", this afternoon, and we were really impressed. Unlike most of today's movies, this one is true to life, and not encumbered with silly graphics and special effects, etc. It deals with family conflict issues, and how a bad situation can be resolved.

It brought home a couple of points I can personally attest to, and made me reflect on how I might tone down my rhetoric, etc., so as to avoid any such problems. It is rare that I can stay fully attentive during an entire movie, but this one had my full attention throughout. I would vote 100% for this movie to win this next years Academy Award...both for best movie, And best actor.

I can't wait to see it. My kids loved that show. I remember it was on about an hour before dinnertime and every once in awhile I'd peek in the living room , more often than not I'd end up sitting with my kids watching along with them. My son particularly enjoyed when Mr. Rogers would film how certain things were made.

Thanks for the review. My kids used to watch the show too. I have viewed a few of the original shows on You Tube. He was a very nice, easy talking man. Today we have motor mouths that speak 300 words/minute & often nothing to say except throw in a lot of 4 letter words. Where did kindness ever go? I seldom see it today. It certainly isn't on cable TV!

I had seen where Mr. Hanks got rave reviews for his performance, saying it was a role meant for him. And the movie got two thumbs up (as they used to say). Sometime after the film was completed Tom Hanks found out that he and Mr. Rogers are actually 6th cousins. So maybe it was a role meant for him.
