So, we all thought 2020 was a nightmare due to Covid and the lockdowns. Then we entered 2021 and it was still with us, although the stock market surged.

Now we are in 2022. We have supply chain shortages, inflation, Russia's attack on Ukraine, the possible repeal of Roe v Wade and the stock market tanking so anyone who has a 401k is shaking in their boots. When does it end? I would love to hear some positive input.

I like 2022! Yea, inflation stinks, Russia stinks but it's like a re-play of the '70s...makes me feel younger. :p Never thought the anti Roe v. Wade forces would succeed, but that comes from not being vigilant. I like not masking everywhere, just noticed the supermarket took down the clear plastic at the checkout stands. I'll probably get the 2nd booster before fall, along with my annual flu shot.

I'm afraid that "good news" is going to be rare, anytime soon. We just seem to be going from problem to problem. I'll be surprised if the economy doesn't Tank....much like 2008, hopefully not as bad as 1929...and the stock market seems more risky, every day. The recent lockdowns in China are going to create many consumer item shortages. Weather conditions, and this recent kill off of chickens, are going to stress our agricultural sources, and lead to even higher prices for food. Fuel prices are showing No signs of leveling off, or dropping. I'll be surprised; if the "official" rate of inflation remains in single digits. Good News???....Good Luck!

My positive input is the love I feel for my son & grandson and I actually like my DIL! Buffy, my cat, needs me & loves me and I have a couple of good friends whom I barely see but communicate thanks to our modern technology. I also love Google, comes in so handy.

2020 was a year like any other, same is true with 2021 and so on. Some people cope better than others, year in and year out are all the same. It is you & me & everyone else who puts a spin on time and events.

Some say a depression is coming. If not a depression, then a recession, for sure. I think there are big changes happening in this world and I'm not sure they are all for the better. There is a lot of fat to be cut in some countries but for some folks there is no fat to be cut.

Three things for sure will not change:
1. The rich will still be rich; the poor will still be poor.
2. "The good Lord giveth but the government take it away."
3. When you die, you can't take it with you; no matter how hard you work and how hard you try.

Quite truthfully, these are not so good times. As hard as I try to be optimistic for the future of not only me, myself and our country, it always seems something or someone pops up that knocks the wind out of my sails. The market dropped another 600+ points today and the broader market (NASDAQ) lost over 500 points.

All of the economists on CNBC & Fox Business today were talking about the looming recession that is sitting on the horizon. Life isn't all about the money, but I look at all the people, especially the young families that are trying to make it and living payday to payday. This economy is killing them.

We are dealing with a virus, a war, a looming recession, open borders, high gas prices and what else did I miss? I know we have a lot of people struggling trying to make it and I wish that I could do more, but one person can't save the world. My S-I-L runs a food bank through her church and the stores that generally donate a lot have cut back and they are having to buy stuff to give away. To be able to buy groceries for their food bank, they depend on cash donations, so naturally, my wife and I donate to them and two other food banks. It's tough right now for a lot of people.

On the fringes, there’s some Cuban psychic who’s predicting that the Virgin Mary will make an appearance in the sky this year; be sure to wave! Also, a guy who claims to be from the future is predicting on Utube a huge earthquake, followed by the disappearance of about a million people, and the emergence of a new vicious predatory species… 🙀

Things are going fine in my life, but I wouldn't want to be a GenZer. They're screwed. So are the GenAlphas.

My son called yesterday to let me know the latest addition to his conversion of a high top ram 250 to be their home. He took out a window on the back door to set in place a 5000 btu a/c. It runs on 115volts & draws 450 amps. That low amp draw makes it possible to cool his van using power saver selection. So now on hot summer nights out in the wilderness they can watch Netflix movies, make pop corn, get something cold from their frige & not worry about draining the battery. The battery will supply power needed for up to 14 hours without draining it. He has a 1000watt solar power system on the roof that will bring the battery back to full charge in 3 hours. Yes happy news for me to know he is living the best life possible during these times when so many others aren't. He beat my early retirement by 3 years.

Just saw chick's post. That peaceful scene is pretty much what my son & his wife experience daily.
