Sprained my anlke (pretty badly..that left it "out of sorts")..some time ago..
and some days it really aches. Wear a brace..but it doesn't help..some days.

Have seen ad on TV about Hempvana cream...and am considering.

Does anyone know/ heard about it? Use it?

or any other recommendations 🤗

Oh, those ankle sprains! Awful. Well, you are wearing your brace and this
is good. The ankle really aches though. Does icing it ever help?

I've not heard of Hempvana, I will google it.

Years ago, I had a bad ankle sprain, oh gosh, ya know these years later
it still at times bothers me. Gosh it took months back then to heal up
some.

No, only "iced" during the swelling..at the beginning.

Now..when I do a lot of walking..the other day shopping..it aches..so I thought to rub a cream on.. would work!

It's been many years since I sprained my ankle. When I fell from some stairs, it sure did hurt. I wore that brace for six weeks.

I myself, would probably try Arnica cream or gel, though I don't know that it would actually be able to help.o_O

Maybe alternating between hot and cold on the ankle.

Or maybe try a different type of rub-on cream from the pharmacy?

I don't know, just giving ideas.
Sometimes even if ideas are not good ones, and do not help, ;)
they might help people to remember or think of an entirely different idea, that does.:geek:

I hope you find something that does help.
And if so, come back and tell us, too.

Interesting that you wear a brace. Maybe it's necessary if you have to be on your feet a lot.

When I sprained my ankle, I bicycled to keep it moving. Swimming is also good.

If it takes too long to heal, it might be broken.

@NorthernLight, no it's not broken, just "bent..out" so when I do a lot of walking..
It aches...so I'm gonna try an analgesic cream for relief.
Like Aspercreme?

Soaking in ice water is the #1 best treatment for a sprain.
Ice water drives the blood deep in the tissues for healing, reducing inflammation and pain.
Heat does the opposite. Never use heat on an injury, unless you're trying to make it get worse.

Half to a full tray of ice cubes in a container of water well above the ankle should be plenty.
The water needs to be cold, but you should be able to keep your foot in for at least 10 to 15 seconds.
When it feels too cold simply take your foot out until you can put it back in, and repeat for 2 to 3 minutes.

Then dry the foot well and wrap it with an elastic wrap.
This process should be repeated several times a day or when needed.
I did this with 3 broken bones in my foot. They healed in 4.5 weeks, then back to full training in 10 weeks.

Sprains should heal quickly, within a few days to a couple of weeks.
The wrap can be discontinued when the pain is gone and it is no longer needed,
However it's important to keep using the ice water regularly until the foot is completely healed.

I am icing my knees a lot. However when I go to PT they like to warm the knees before doing the exercises. Not sure what the theory is, but it does feel good. I only ice at home.

Hospital gave me two of these, one for each knee https://www.breg.com/products/cold-therapy/devices/cube-cold-therapy/
