Another Corona Virus Side Effect

Reports are starting to come in concerning the increased number of doctors and nurses who are contracting this illness. These health care workers are truly the "infantry" in this War against the virus. Their interactions with an increasing number of patients, and the seeming lack of protective gear, is putting many of our doctors, nurses, and anyone in the medical field, in a very hazardous situation. If we start seeing a decline in the number of providers able to supply care, our entire health care system is going to become increasingly stressed.

Of course it is... and medical staff on the NHS here are being denied testing kits..what sense is there in that ,? it's beyond belief and common sense.... They should be on the front line of free tests as those who will be caring for us all,. for that reason much of our medical staff have gone home sick .. not with Covid-19 but the fear of catching it, and dying or passing it to their families, because no-one is protecting THEM..

...so now we have an even greater shortage of medical staff trained to care for Covid-10 sufferers, and still less for cancer patients whose surgeries of those who are on the NHS waiting lists have been put on hold for yet another 2 weeks...

The Govt put out a plea for 20,000 volunteers for the NHS less than a week ago .. no--one thought anyone would reply ( who would put their life on the line for free)? ... I'm am so proud of my countrymen and women when I say that within 5 days almost 1/2 a million people have volunteered to ease the pressure on nursing staff by being trained to do much more menial but very important jobs to free nurses and doctors from the huge pressure put on them.

It's an enormous task which will have to be hurried through quickly but those volunteers all have to have background checks, and medical check, but once they're clear they're good to go.....

further to that many doctors and nurses have been recalled out of retirement who are fit and willing to work

so God Bless them all ...... they ask only one thing of the rest of us and that is that we just stay home, do not mix with other people , and obey the social distance rule when you have got to leave the house. ..if they can put their lives on the line for free to help us all, we can surely help by helping ourselves..

The news on 4.10.20 is heart-breaking. So many healthcare workers stricken down only because they were doing their jobs to save the rest of us. My emotional reactions range from sadness to outright anger. They should never have been put in a position of this much risk.
